After a successful career as CEO for a Fortune 500 company, Dan Starks and his wife Cynthia moved to Dubois, Wyoming to retire. Retirement did not last long.

Today, Dan is the Founder and Chairman of the National Museum of Military Vehicles (NMMV.org) one of the premier military history museums in the United States. The Museum was recognized by USA Today in 2020 as one of the top ten new attractions in the U.S. Its mission is to honor the service and sacrifice of our veterans and their families, to educate next generations on the history of American freedom, and to preserve and share historic military vehicles.

Cynthia is an entrepreneur and professional wildlife photographer whose passions include photographing brown bears and polar bears in their natural habitats, supporting wildlife conservation, and animal rescue.

Dan and Cynthia have a long record of philanthropy. They endowed the Jeremy Ruskin and Dan Starks Chair of Cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston in 2017. They funded the air ambulance service for a large part of Fremont County, WY for multiple years to prevent its termination. And they were primary donors to create both the Nevada State Veterans Memorial in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the National Museum of Military Vehicles in Dubois, Wyoming. The Grizzly 399 Project fits well with their long standing wildlife and philanthropic interests.
